A NOISE IN THE BASEMENT

Cortney was startled when she heard the loud bang coming form the attic. She was staying at an old house up in Jacksonville for the summer with her close friends Taylor, Jessica. Everyone knew us as the "4 Mustketeers" because we always hung around together. To make Cortney feel better, Diana suggested they all go upstairs together to see what made that loud noise. As they moved closer to the attic, the banging got louder and louder. When all of them approached the attic door they opened it and walked up the squeaky 20 steps.
When they got to the attic Diana went in first. She flipped on the switch for the light and the bulb started to flicker and made a bright flash then burned out. All the girls ran out screaming. They went downstairs into the kitchen and grabbed three flash lights that were in the closet and went back upstairs. As they walked back upstairs and opened the door, the door started to squeak. As the three girls walked inside and all of a sudden they realized that Cortney had disappeared and dropped her flash light on the ground.Diana started to look for her, while Jessica and Taylor just stood there holding each other scared tighter then two cherries on its stem. Diana started to look around some boxes as Cortney jumped out and screamed “BOO!” We all screamed as loud as we could!
Jessica felt like she was being watched and grabbed Taylor’s arm and as she turned her head around she saw a man standing there covered in blood with a knife raised in his hands. While Jessica ran for her life the man continued to chase her down the stairs. The knife jabbed right into her arm and felt like the teeth og a shark going right into my skin.Diana took out her phone and dialed 911. The operator picked up and told us to get out of the house immediately and they would send cops over right away, and as they started going down the stairs the man stopped them and they saw Jessica lying on the floor crying, “HELP!, HELP!” Taylor frantically yelled, “Are you okay?”
Busting through the door, the cops declare “LET THEM GO!” as the man grabs Cortney and Diana. Another one of the cops said “We have a hostage situation” through the walkie-talkie. Additional police squad come and surround the house, the swat team storms in and there able to capture him without hurting the hostages.
