It was pitch black and very damp. We were all in a room that was unfamiliar to every part of our body. Once in a while a wet substance would drip on us that didn't seem to come off. Nothing, not even the black shed winds coming from the bottom of the locked metal door could penitrate the foul sour smelling air that seeped into our lungs with every breath.
I knew there were other people in the room with me, not by sight but by hearing their gasps for a hint of fresh air. I could hear foot steps on the other side of the door, not coming towards us but walking casually around. It seemed as though we were forgotten and no one cared what was happining to me nor the others inside.
One of the fellow inmates said for us to state our names. I managed to get all their names before I yelled mine. "Michael" I managed to say in a hoarse tone. For some reason all the names seemed very familiar but i could'nt quite put my finger on why. Maybe from work? I asked myself but no one from work had the names Luis, Jessica, nor Christian.
I tryed to keep my mouth shut most of the time because the oder not only smelled bad but tasted distorted and bitter as well. The smell was starting to get to me. My nerves, my patience, and my soul were wearing thin. First of all i had no idea where I was nor did i know who these people were. Tears started to fall from my cheeks because I could never know what would happen next. It was always something different now. The smell started to turn even more foul and then chains would rattle from the other people next to me. It was all driving me mad.
Now my eyesight was blurring and I could tell everyone elces eyesight was also dimming because they started to feel around more than looking around. This was all too much to handle at once and I could'nt tell if it was night or day, if I was sleepy or awake, If this was all a dream.
The lights turned on and blinded me for a few minutes. When my sight came back I saw the others faces. Not only did their names sound familiar but they also looked it too. It started to all come back to me. they were from my childhood from middle school through high school! I had so many questions for all of them but my vocal cords were stund from the sick air that filled the room.
Now that i knew who they were it calmed me down. But right when i looked up fear and rage filled within me. spikes the size of lamp posts filled the top of the roof. On the spikes were bodies with no muscle nor skin. They were just drooping flesh that decroded our air. The sight made a slight yelp come from my mouth but the rest of the yell was just air waiting to escape from my dirty lungs.
None of this made sence at all. Why would me and my old friends be put in this room filled with dispair. But before I could go on thinking Luis went mad. He picked up a small sharp bone off the floor and attacked Christian. As Christian made a desprit attempt to flee the bone pierced his back and ripped up through his neck. Christian was dead because Luis went mad. Jessica was crying which alerted Luis into making him come torwards her. I knew what was going to happen next so I made an attempt to stop Luis's rampage. When luis reached Jessica's location I threw a heavy stone that was loose from the wall at his head which knocked him out. At this point I realised what was happining. I was an experiment and we were the victims.
when I looked around to find anything that could get us out of here there was a camera watching our every move. As soon as i found proof that this was an experiment I told Jessica. Suddenly Jessica went to the door and over heared a conversation. Right when the people stopped talking she starred blankly to me and said "we ruined the experiment". and as soon as she said that the spikes came down upon us and our souls were at rest.
